Our Founder

In 2003, Kelly Swan befriended a homeless man on a downtown street. The encounter changed the course of his life and prompted him to form Filling The Void – a nonprofit ministry that has fed more than 325,000 people and earned two national awards for community service.

Kelly “retired” at age 49 to help the homeless and needy full-time. He has 25 years of experience in the corporate world, 20 years of experience leading a 501c3 nonprofit, is a licensed minister and has counseled organizations and executives on messaging, media relations and reputation management.

During his corporate career, he was the spokesman for two Fortune 500 companies, served as a ghost writer and adviser to six CEOs, trained 1,000 people in crisis communications, received 11 awards for news writing, feature stories and branding, and worked on a 2017 Super Bowl ad.

Kelly is available for scheduled speaking appearances to tell more of his story. A video sample of his speaking style, stage presence and content curation can be seen in this recording at a church in Houston. Honorariums are appreciated and critical to allowing him to do this work full-time. Learn more here.
