501c3 INFO

Filling The Void Inc. is a public charity, recognized by 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS. We received our determination letter on Oct. 18, 2004.

As our work grew to new cities, we applied for a group tax exemption. The IRS approved our filing on Dec. 5, 2011, recognizing all Filling the Void affiliates in other cities as tax-exempt.

Our founding organization (Inc.) updates the IRS annually on the number of our affiliates. So far we have one in Tulsa, one in Denver, and one in Dallas.

Our new work in Houston and other potential cities is funded by the Inc organization until they’re ready to become an official branch affiliate. We will provide our EINs, IRS determination letter & Group Exemption Number upon request.

Each Filling The Void affiliate files a Form 990-N (e-postcard) by May 15 each calendar year since each organization’s gross receipts are normally less than $50,000 per year.

Starting in 2018, Filling The Void Inc. started filing a regular Form 990 since our annual income now averages more than $50,000 per year. A copy of our 990 is available upon request.

Every January, we also mail out contribution statements/receipts to all of our donors documenting their financial or in-kind gifts in the prior calendar year.
